2nd Innovation Workshop on Transforming Big Data into Actionable Knowledge (2nd BiDAW, 2020) co-located with IEEE Big Data Conference 2020

Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Made in Germany inspiring the US

Today the world is being changed and revolutionized very fast by the integration of new technologies. Mainly digitalization and in particular, Big data and next-generation Artificial Intelligence (AI), are impacting our lives as well as business processes. The operational environment and all the digital services should actionably respond to these changes and result in actionable insights for the support of decision making actions in various domains. Industrial integration of technologies that cause such actionable changes includes knowledge graphs, explainable and conversational AI, human-centered AI, as well as deep learning, adversarial networks, and reinforcement learning.

The version 2020 of the Innovation Workshop on Transforming Big Data into Actionable Knowledge (2nd BiDAW, 2020) is indented to be a forum aims at bringing together practitioners and researchers from the areas of the semantic web, artificial intelligence, and databases, to discuss research issues and experiences in developing and deploying concepts, techniques, and applications that address various issues related to big data and actionable knowledge. In this regard, we believe that the BiDAW workshop will provide a productive and promising brainstorming environment to business leaders and academics towards transforming both big data and the next generation AI into actionable knowledge. Due to the COVID-19 limitations, the workshop will be held in a VIRTUAL format!

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Actionable Knowledge
  • Big Data Technologies towards Actionable Insights
  • Domain-Driven Data Mining
  • Next-Generation AI
  • Deep Learning
  • Knowledge Graphs
  • Semantic Technologies in Knowledge Discovery
  • Domain-specific Decision-Making Solutions

The VIRTUAL  2nd BiDAW 2020 workshop is held in conjunction with the IEEE Big Data 2020 and is supported by the BMBF and German Aerospace Center (DLR) project management agency (DLR Projektträger) funded project BRIDGE-US as part of the campaign “The Future of Work”.

Submission Guideline

Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts in the English language that can be up to 10 pages maximum* and should be formatted in PDF using the IEEE Conference format. For your convenience, the Conference Paper Templates from IEEE in various formats are linked here to prepare your manuscript. The papers may explicitly include the primary results and findings, emphasizing new advances, theories and/or applications so that the program committee will be able to understand the originality and the value of the work. All papers must be submitted electronically to the On-Line Paper Submission portal.

Manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by the Technical Program Committee. A submission implies willingness to register and present the work if the paper is accepted for presentation at the workshop. Accepted papers after proper registration and presentation by at least one of the authors will be included in the workshop proceeding published by IEEE in the IEEE Xplore digital library. Failure to present the paper in person can lead to the paper being withdrawn from the proceeding. The final manuscript must be accompanied by a registration form and a registration fee payment proof. All workshop attendees must pay the workshop registration fee and their travel, accommodation, and other personal expenses on their own.

*Regular Papers: 10 pages, including all figures, tables, and references.

PURCHASING EXTRA PAGES:
The authors could purchase two extra pages if necessary with US$100 per page.

PRESENTATIONS:

Regular paper: 25 minutes oral presentation (about 20 minutes for talk and 5 minutes for Q and A)

Important Deadlines:
